“Strowlers”
Development
Strowlers has been developed by Zombie Orpheus Entertainment LLC (ZOE), whose members include Kat Ogden, Ben Dobyns, and Matt Vancil. With the mandate that the show avoid the financial and creative pitfalls of mass market media, the creators have worked hard to create a world and story that respects the intelligence of its audience, that keeps viewers on the edge of their seat, and encourages massive fan involvement and participation in the filmmaking and distribution process. We’re all in this together!
Production
Strowlers Season One is scheduled to shoot in Seattle in September of 2010. Of course, as Jimmy Cadence would say, that’s assuming “God willing and the floods don’t rise.” Seventeen days of principal photography are scheduled.
Distribution
Strowlers will be released for free online under a Creative Commons-noncommercial-attribution license, which will allow fans to remix, reorder, reedit, and recreate whatever strikes their fancy. Furthermore, ZOE will release a comprehensive guide to the world of Strowlers, offering an unprecedented level of storyworld access to the fan fiction community. Beyond free distribution online in perpetuity, ZOE will release a DVD of the show with additional special content, as well as providing high definition downloads.
